You sure you don’t want to eat me? I am delicious though :P

I am sure you all must be thinking I am crazy because frankly speaking who asks such questions, Right? But, let me tell you that I am not crazy. In fact I have just recently found out that I had eaten many frogs in the past, and I can bet some of you also had and some just sadly avoided the opportunity of eating them. You want to know why I said sadly? Let me start from the beginning…

Mark Twain (American Writer) once said to Brian Tracy (A Motivational Speaker & Author) that “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”

Brian then wrote the book called “Eat that Frog” in which he explains that “Frog” is actually our most important task of the day and that we should eat our frog in the morning so that the rest of the day goes by smoothly. And if we are done with eating it in the morning and some more frogs are served on our plate we eat them comfortably because we already ate the biggest frog and others are just smaller ones.

A technique that can make you eat your frog quickly & efficiently is eating it with a Pomodoro. Pomodoro? Yes, a Pomodoro. I know it is Tomato in Italian but how can we complete our task (frog) with a Pomodoro? A University guy named Francesco Cirillo from the 80s came up with this Pomodoro Technique through which we can overcome procrastination & do more in less time.

Pomodoro Technique

I know you guys are still wondering why it is called a Pomodoro Technique when it has nothing to do with a Pomodoro, So when Francesco came up with this technique, he was actually using a tomato shaped timer so that is why its name is such.

My Experience

Honestly, I have used this timer technique in my past but I had no idea until I was given a task by Amal Academy that it is actually a technique. So, I was asked to perform this Pomodoro Technique and I did and I am convinced that we should apply it daily because it gets us done with so much of our work because we are not procrastinating or wasting time on distractions. It wasn’t difficult to apply, some tasks got completed in exactly 25 minutes but some took longer & for them I used two or more Pomodoro.

1st Task (Doing the dishes, took 25 minutes) & 2nd Task (Making Lunch, took more than 50 minutes; 2 Pomodoro)

The third and fourth tasks were related to Amal Fellowship homework.

Pomodoro Technique is very effective. It was extremely helpful for me, a person who worries too much about work. Trust me, I feel you, I know that sometimes the pressure of tasks is just too much but honestly, if you start using this technique daily, it will help you overcome the bad habit of procrastination & will also give you mental & physical relief. So, don’t think too much, make a list of the frogs that you want to eat tomorrow and start eating them first thing in the morning. All the best & FIGHTING!

Thank you so much for reading my Blog :). PEACE OUT!!!
